Extended Access & Out of Hours

Non-urgent advice: Improved Access Scheme (IAS) and Extended Hours

The practice provides GP Extended Access Scheme (late evening and weekend appointments) as a member of  i3 PCN.

Your local GPs are working together as i3 (formerly ICOF) Primary Care Network (PCN) to improve services to you, our patients.

One of the ways we are doing this is to provide extended access during weekday evenings and the weekends. From the 1st April 2020 if you are a patient at one of the following practices:

2. Aston Pride Community Health Centre B6 5HA

3. Rotton Park Medical Centre (B16 0LU)

4. Heathfield Family Centre (B19 1HL)

5. Victoria Road Medical Centre (B6 5HP)

6. Church Rd (B6 5UP)

7. Soho Health Centre (Dr Saini) (B21 9RY)

8. Soho Health Centre (Dr Bathla) (B21 9RY)

9. Hockley Medical Practice (Dr Bathla) (B1 3AL)

10. Summerfield Group Practice (B18 7AL)

The Hub locations below reflect geographical location of the practices and provide easier access for our patients.

Your Enhanced Access Scheme Hubs will be housed at the following locations;

The Practice is a member of i3 Ladywood Primary Care Network (PCN), which covers a population of around 73,000 patients and 9 GP Practices. 

Being part of the PCN means that the following services are provided, outside of our normal hours. 

Monday to Friday – 6.30pm to 8.00pm – One of the PCN’s Hubs operates from Summerfield Group Practice for the benefit of all patients in the PCN. 

Saturdays – 9.00am – 5.00pm – An Extended Access Service is provided from the Church Road Surgery, 28 Church Road, Aston, Birmingham B6 5UP.  On Saturdays, please calls 0121 411 0344 between – 9.00am. 5.00pm . This service is delivered at Church Road Surgery between the hours of 9:00am – 5:00pm. 

Non-urgent advice: When the Practice and the Enhanced Access Service is closed, please call NHS111

After 20:00 on Monday to Friday and at all times during weekends and bank holidays, requests for emergency treatment will be dealt by NHS111 who will direct you to the most appropriate service provider for your problem. This may be at home management advice, calling an ambulance, directing you to A&E department or Urgent Care centre or to out of hours service provider commissioned by the ICP.
